Today this historic home offers B&B guests 1 suite & 2 rooms. Upstairs, the “Sisters” Suite is 2 bedrooms with queen & king beds & shared private bath. Also upstairs, "Bachelor" room is very bright & probably our sweetest with a queen bed & claw foot tub private bath. On the main floor–"Mt. Hood"–offers private bath & queen bed.

The self-contained, two bedroom/one bath cabin, with a living room, full kitchen & large decks, overlooks hayfields & orchards that make up part of this original 19th Century homestead.
While we raise free-range Heritage turkeys & grass-fed Katahdin lambs, our farm is also host to horses, geese, chickens, a peacock & the requisite dogs and cats, many of which range freely around the property.
We are only 40 miles from the Pacific Ocean, only 25 miles from Corvallis, but many miles from the fast-paced, modern world. Come rest & relax or help out with farm & garden chores! Great for families, couples, best friends, honeymooners, work retreats or writing vacations.

Abner D. Gardner House is a two-story, wood frame home with a touch of the Italianate style. A veranda runs along the front. The large, private cottage is designed expressly to make your stay a special time.
Your breakfast includes Loni's award winning scones, muffins, breads, jams, jellies, tarts or pastries. They are served in the cottage with premium coffee, tea, juice, fresh fruit & an entree.
Specialties include a baked egg in polenta, bacon wrapped with white cheddar & gruyere cheese & fresh thyme. Or enjoy frittatas, omelettes & buttermilk waffles. Plus there is fresh local seasonal fruit, steel-cut oatmeal with sauteed fruit & fresh fruit tarts with yogurt in a granola crust.

At Sweet Home's Foster Lake Inn, you will enjoy your morning coffee, tea or microwave or take-out breakfast on the porch overlooking the deep blue of Foster Lake just across the street. The Inn does not serve breakfast, however the Point restaurant is right next door.
After breakfast, drive downtown & see painted building murals depicting local logging & homesteading history.
Since Sweet Home is built on a huge petrified forest, you can find over 70 kinds of petrified wood & leaves plus unique agates locally. You can see many of these beautiful rocks in local museums & shops.
Your drive on the "Over the Rivers, Though the Woods" Scenic Byway will take you from the rich Willamette Valley farmland & historic Brownsville to the heart of the Cascades at Santiam Pass. For a more adventurous drive there is the "Quartzville Road Back Country" Byway on a paved forest road into a very remote area of the forest. |
